In collaboration with Pertubuhan Akitek Malaysia (PAM), Vnix held a 3-day Basic ArchiCAD Training for PAM trainers last 16 to 18 July 2014 at Vnix Malaysia office at One City, USJ 25, Subang Jaya.

The said training is part of PAM’s efforts to promote Building Information Modeling (BIM) to its members and a product of MOU between PAM and Vnix Malaysia. The training was attended by 6 PAM members who will then become PAM certified ArchiCAD trainers after completion of the training series. They in turn will be certified to train fellow PAM members who are willing to learn more about BIM through ArchiCAD.

Lim Kee Hua, founder and principal of EZRA Architects (Singapore) and a long-time ArchiCAD user spoke during GRAPHISOFT Japan’s launch of ArchiCAD 18 last 2 September 2014 in Tokyo, Japan. EZRA Architects, a proud user of ArchiCAD and a supporter of BuildingSMART’s OPEN BIM campaign, has been a VNIX client since 2011. He was accompanied by VNIX Managing Director, David Lim Teck Vee during the event.

VNIX Malaysia held an ArchiCAD User Group Meeting last Friday, 29 August 2014 in its training center at Garden Shoppe in One City, USJ 25, Subang Jaya. The user group meeting cum workshop was the first in a three-part series that aims to introduce the new features and functionalities of ArchiCAD’s 30th anniversary release, version 18.

"BUDAPEST, August 11, 2014 - GRAPHISOFT®, the leading Building Information Modeling (BIM) architectural software developer, announced that its award-winning BIM presentation app, BIMx Docs, has been released for Android phones and tablets in Google Play. This release makes BIMx Docs available on the largest installed based of any mobile OS in the world.

"GRAPHISOFT® typically comes out with a new release of its popular BIM application, ArchiCAD, every summer, and following this schedule, it launched ArchiCAD 18 earlier this month. This happens to also be the 30th anniversary of the application, making it extra special not only to Graphisoft but also to the entire ArchiCAD community of users, developers, resellers, and consultants world-wide. ArchiCAD may not be the leading BIM application, but it has certainly held its own against Revit, providing a much-needed alternative to AEC professionals with a different philosophy and approach that has garnered the application a devoted user base. While ArchiCAD is still synonymous with GRAPHISOFT, the company has, in recent years, expanded its product offerings to two additional applications: BIMx Docs, which was reviewed in AECbytes in February; and the new BIMcloud, which was launched in Tokyo just a couple of months ago. Both of these applications, like ArchiCAD, are squarely in the BIM category, reaffirming GRAPHISOFT's firm commitment to BIM.
